Karol Truman provides a comprehensive and enlightening resource for getting in touch with unresolved feelings which, she explains, can distort not only happiness but also health and well-being. Leaving no emotion unnamed, and in fact listing around 750 labels for feelings, Truman helps identify problem areas, and offers a 'script' to help process the feelings, replacing the negative feeling with a new, positive outlook. A chapter on the possible emotions below the surface in various physical ailments gives the reader plenty to work with on a deep healing level. FEELINGS BURIED ALIVE NEVER DIE combines a supportive, common-sense, results-oriented approach to a problem that is widespread and that can stop people from living fully.

I no longer have hardly any migraines because of this book! I had been through 10 medications, a couple of doctors, a chiropractor, and homopathic treatment all to no avail. This book is life-changing and will have a tremendous impact on your health if you read it with an open mind. It was a direct answer to prayer for me.
Oh my, horrible book.
First of all, the lack of editing was horrendous. There were mix-ups between 'its' and 'it's,' capitalizing of letters to stress a point, weird misspellings . . .
Secondly, the book seemed to claim one thing and then immediately jump to something else without realizing that the one refuted the other.
Third, once I got to the book's trick to unburying feelings, I just laughed out loud. It seemed so quacky, I wondered why anyone would do it. Basically, you pray to your body to

The book begins literally 'in the beginning.' IN that instant that life is created, the single sperm that penetrates the egg and viola : life! One of the first ideas that really made sense for me was the realization that even at conception -- the developing embryo can feel & those 'feelings' are recorded at a molecular level.
The author references the significance of a happy - balanced pregnancy and LOVE from the mother and father are absolutely necessary for the infant to grow and develop i

This is one of the most remarkable books I have ever read. It discusses the interplay of and the effect that feelings, thoughts and emotions have upon our beings; that we are what we feel and think; that our feelings, thoughts and words become self-fulfilling prophecies. The author suggests that in many cases, if not most, our unresolved feelings [negative feelings] lead to disease (dis-ease) in our bodies and often account for the ailments (however serious) which beset us. The author also sets..more
This book has been life-changing for me. I have truly loved it, though a lot of it is hard to take at first. The more I read, the more I loved it. a chapter or two later it all started to make sense.
The premise of the book is that negative feelings that we harbor can have detrimental effects on us physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc. The book introduces an approach to help us resolve these negative feelings. These feelings often block us from achieving what we really want in life. As I ha

I do agree that suppressed feelings and emotions can cause ailments, but I don't believe that every physical problem is a result of this. I think there are plenty of exterior influences that can cause an illness that have nothing to do with one's feelings. I did appreciate the main sentiment though; one should never bury alive one's emotions, believing they will die if neglected.

We are all spiritual beings searching to obtain a state of perfection that is already present in us but blocked by the fall of man. We live in a fallen world and we deal with a continual battle within. The battle exists between choosing to resist change and ignore the feelings that stem from our experiences or being mindful of the feelings and listening deeply to the thoughts that have produced the feelings in the first place. When we ignore our feelings, we live in a state of double-mindedness..more

In the end, science is finally corroborating the fact that love for oneself and for others, as well as forgiveness and letting go create health. Truman's book is in its 13th printing--a classic in the field of awareness of how physical health and mental/emotional patterns that we hold interrelate. Not particularly well written, but chapter 4 is a good overview of Truman's thinking, and the the tables in chapter 17 on types of feelings and chapter 18 on the causes of illness are food for thought..more

I refer back to this book on a very regular basis. Truman point or purpose in this book is that every diss-ease has been created by a blocked or out of alignment emotion. Emotion is much like ego or addictive thinking. When the blockage is delt with and released the disease or pain in the body leaves. She breaks down several diseases and simple aches and pains and write the possible blockages. That is why I refer to the book so often is for friends and family to tell them the possible emotional..more

July 2, 2013: After the recommendation given by several friends on how good this book is, I finally read it. And now I am going to have to buy my own copy! I love how the author correlates health with feelings, and then offers a wonderful tool to process feelings. I expect to find a lot of empowerment from following her 'Script'.
December 10, 2015: I am still loving and using the Script. Such a powerful resource for health and healing!
I remember reading and re-reading the senseless words. By the end i could only grasp at the idea of actually discerning between a feeling and a thought, let alone process how emotion is the effect of them and not the cause. The book goes into a script meditation that I never got around to. It took me years just to make practical use of the foundational concepts but maybe I'm just that hard headed. This book was Heavenly Father throwing me a big meaty bone, I'm still chewing on it.
Karol Truman has written an excellent book for everyone! As she so clearly explains the trauma beginning with birth, that affects us all in ways we have no knowledge or memory of, to the negative slogans and beliefs we struggle with due to a lack of understanding how to allow spirit to change us.
It changed my life as it can yours.
I just did not like this book. I agree with the notion that our feelings influence our thoughts and vise versa (and, in fact, influence our health), but I do not believe that cancer and other serious illnesses are caused by some sort of repressed feelings or traumatic experiences from our experience at birth.
What I especially liked about this book is how the author covered the entire gamut of aspects of our feelings from generational, DNA, experiential, outside trauma, plus mind/body/spirit and more. She includes a 'Script' on page page 95 for self-healing. I typed out a modified copy for myself and pasted it below. I just started using the 'Script' and don't have any results to report at this time. I do think that this is a good book to scan to get a sense of the big picture and scope of what influ..more
Hmmm..I just really don't know what to make of this book.
I appreciate the overall concept of dealing with our feelings and in correcting erroneous negative thoughts by replacing them with positive affirmations. But, the wording of 'The Script' (her outline for identifying negative thoughts and replacing them with an opposite thought) is very strange to me personally. I could not identify with it.
I can buy the fact that if we are not doing well spiritually/emotionally our immune system may not

An interesting book that takes the suggest that emotional issues are related to physical issues/manifestations. I appreciated the idea and insight that our first traumatic experience may have occurred at birth. The process of birth (if you think about it) is so huge for that little baby --- especially after being in a such a warm and protected place. Being exposed to light, cold, and detachment from mom can certainly be huge. I wasn't too comfortable with the script/affirmations. But there might..more

Book club choice for May. This is why I'm in book club because this is a book I wouldn't have picked up on my own. I thought there were some really good things about this book and I thought there were some things that were a little hard to swallow. I appreciate that this was chosen so I could read something about how positive thinking, feelings, words, and actions help our lives become better. I even tried 'the script' out a couple of times and found value in it (especially with potty-training i..more

Life Changing. Didn't read page by page but skimmed and read the things focused on me. If you use this book with Energy Healing it is amazing and life changing. (less)
Though I almost quit reading it when she talks about how our birth experience continues to affect us into adulthood, this book convinced me of an important truth. For years, I've been told it's possible to choose to feel certain ways, that we have control of or at least a lot of influence over how we feel. I used to think that was mostly impossible. Now I wholeheartedly believe that we can change how we feel by implementing active and sincere choice. I love the idea that we can replace a negativ..more

I was SUPER excited to read this book, and it did not disappoint! I found myself underlining things on nearly every page, and had multiple 'lightbulb' moments while reading it.
Not gonna lie, though, parts of it were out of my comfort zone, even with all the growth I've had in my life the past few years. This book definitely falls in the same category as things like yoga, meditation, and positive affirmations. If you get weirded out by those things, you may not be ready to read this one just yet.

I liked some of her ideas, thoughts, and suggestions, but some of them are a bit out there/assuming and her grammar is atrocious. At times the poor grammar was so distracting it was hard to stay focused on the concepts she was trying to convey or emphasize. I know authors will take liberties to add emphasis, which I don’t have any problems with. It’s just the way and style she chose to do it was very distracting and obnoxious (adding hyphens to words that don’t need them, capitalizing the first..more
The first part of the book was.. interesting but it did get more helpful towards the end. While I did glean some helpful things from this book that I am going to apply to my life I struggled with the main purpose because I don't understand how the author has authority in this matter. And finally at the end she started talking about some of the science rather than the book just sounding like her opinion. I would have appreciated a bibliography rather than just a 'further reading' section so that..more
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to overcome past traumas and hardships. I've had this on the shelf for years and was afraid to open it. I've been through all kinds of therapy and just did NOT want to dig up all that old pain and suffering AGAIN.
Why did I wait so long to read it?!!!
This is not about rehashing old feelings and experiences - this is about allowing your heart and body to finally heal. I will admit I was a bit skeptical of the 'script' at first, but I have been conve

I'm still trying to figure out if I believe everything in the book. I do believe our emotions impact us on a physical level. But I'm just not sure I believe that emotions are at the root cause of EVERY disease and physical problem. We live in a toxic world with so many external stressors. Although someone from the view point of the book would argue that certain people emotionally open themselves up to these external causes.
Anyway, just don't know if I believe or agree with everything.
This book has a lot of good information in it that any health-minded person should take in, but I can't agree with everything that Truman presents here. I had to wade through and boil down a lot of what I read simply because it's inconsistent with my faith. I think that it's definitely very, very informative and I learned so much from reading it, but her use of the Law of Attraction alarmed me.

This book has been an extremely powerful book in my life. I learned that my feelings were important, and that I could let my feelings mean something. It began my journey of learning about emotions, and years later, I refer to this book often. I teach classes on emotional health, and how important it is to understand our feelings. I credit this book with being very important on that path.
Very eye-opening. There are a lot of things that you can pull and put into use in your life. I dont think ALL of it is for EVERYBODY. But much of it makes sense in the spiritual-physical connections.
Despite editing errors, this book was so powerful in helping to find the root of dis-ease. It has helped to balance and ground me, giving me a source to turn to when the dark feelings surface. Grateful to have read this for my Reiki class.

Emotions and health
This book illustrated the connection between a person's health and their feelings, thoughts and beliefs. Bible references aside, i found it very interesting. At the very least, it provided tools for processing negative emotions in a healthy way.
